Interesting...
As part of my research on environmental regs, Mr. Young's books were recommended to me. The author is clear in his expression, as well as providing food for thought on related topics. I would recommend it to others who are following similar lines of research to my own.

Regulation Review
This is a good briefing on clean air regulation in the United States through 1995. The publisher is a diffircult company to get a hold of. However, the book is well work the investment

This book is a brief history of clean air regulation.

Clouds Jumping
Published in Paperback by iUniverse.com (November, 2000)
Author: Scott V. Morton
Average review score:

a terrific debut for Scott V. Morton
Margaret, one day on the verge of suicide travels to lands completely unknown to her, with a mission, also unknown. She's given a sword, a beer, and a pregnancy, and you get to join her in journeys and experiences like none other. She meets dragons, friends, enemies that help her along the way. Her friends become your friends.

The imagination used to create this story is unmatched to anything I've read before. I can't wait for the next one!

Bravo!

A wonderfully mind-bending book!
Follow Margaret as she de-thrones the powerful Emporer with the help of friends and enemies, people and dragons, and the presence who set her on her way. Both the dark and the light side of the characters are exposed. The first-person narrative of the central character creates a deep understanding of her psyche throughout the book in her search for truth unbiased by time and circumstance. The supporting characters developed quickly into everyday people, yet the well timed plot twists keep you wondering who they really were and what they really want. Fertile landscapes and descriptions of unseen places create a sometimes surreal backdrop. Natural phrases and conversational language weave a wonderfully 'real' dialog between the characters. The author's treatment of omnipotent beings, dragons, and other so-called impossibilities of everyday-life definitely makes you consider alternate ways of thinking. I'm looking forward to more from Mr. Morton.

A Fantasy Book About Personal Fears.
Scott Morton writes a very entertaining book that's easy to read. He grabs your attention at the start, then leads you down a path of changing emotional environments surrounded by tumbling realities. I was able to identify with Margaret (the main character).

In the story, Margaret tells a tale of her own journey from hopeless disillusionment, to empowered gratefulness. Her occupation as a judge had made her come in contact with the refuse of humankind. Along with previous personal tragedies, her constant immersion in the human cesspool gave her no will to live. God, Dragons, an Angel, a monk, a reality-bending emperor, and a cigarette-smoking stranger all enter her life at the moment of her ultimate decision.

The story grabbed me from the first page. I had trouble putting the book down, because Scott Morton's style of writing brings you from one situation to the next, in such a way that leaves no breathing room for the reader. He also seems to mix in his own views on the creation of our own individual realities, in an attempt to point a our minds toward the possibilities of exchanging the bad for the good.

I really enjoyed "Clouds Jumping" and I can't wait until my next foray into the world of Scott Morton.

Coastal Waters: Images of North Carolina
Published in Hardcover by Coastal Carolina Press (November, 2000)
Author: Scott Taylor
Average review score:

Coastal Waters: Images of North Carolina
A landmark book, Coastal Waters reflects the creative genius of a natural photographer in complete harmony with his world. Not since Ansel Adams's indepth studies of the dynamic and ever-changing landscape of the West has another artist been so in touch with the life and images in his daily world. Please give us more of this talented young man's work.

Taylor Triumphs
His best work since "Seashells of North Carolina." A talented photographic tribute to a treasured coastal area.

Serenity in Book Form
A "picture book" of the highest calibre. This is one of the most calming and beautiful books I've ever purchased. Mr. Taylor's hauntingly insightful photographs portray the true nature of Coastal Carolina and give the reader/viewer a true insight into the ways of life "Downeast." The Introduction and Forward are as comforting and peaceful as the photos. A book to dream through after a harried day. I'd move there in a minte if it weren't for the fact that (I'm proud to say) I already have. Heaven is truly closer here by North Carolina's "Coastal Waters."

EXQUISITE
This book shines with an exquisite simplicity and straightforwardness. The authors' knowledge in using colors will enhance and bring passion to any relationship. Gloria Van Dam, R.N., BSCN.

A rethink on my underwear!
This book made me take a critical look at my underwear! I became aware that the colour of your undies has an effect on the mood you exude! Gone were the white comfy cotton knickers and sensible sports bra if I wanted to send out a beckoning message to the opposite sex! Not only that, what you wear is what you feel. If you want to feel sexy, this book is a must read before you do anything else!

THIS BOOK WILL OPEN YOUR EYES!
This book really opened my eyes and my awareness for betterromantic strategies. I loved the "MASTER STROKES" chapterwhich gives the reader great new ideas for color, sex and clothing toset the scene for a successful romance.

The Complete Book of Pasta
Published in Paperback by Bantam Books (October, 1983)
Author: Jack Denton Scott
Average review score:

A Pasta Lovers Guide
I first got this book in the 1970's and have never seen such a comprehensive guide to the types, cooking and serving of pasta ever. There are descriptions of the many different types and shapes of pasta given. A basic recipe to make your own pasta dough is included. This book became one of my favorites and the recipes given are easy to follow, authentic, and turn out delicious. My copy has yellowed with age and usage, and friends will ask for recipes but I will never part with this book! There are too many good memories of wonderful meals prepared that fetched oohs and aahs from my guests. Definately a treasure to own!

the complete book of pasta by Jack Denton Scott
This is one of my most beloved cookbooks. The lasagne recipe was on of the first I ever made back in college (20 years ago.) It is still one of my favorite recipes!! I desperately need a new copy as this one is held together with paperclips and pasta starch.

Great Italian Recipes
I got this book with my first pasta machine over 20 years ago. Making your own fresh pasta is certainly rewarding, but since the book was published decent "fresh" pasta is easily available in most stores. Whether you make your own or let others create the pasta, this book contains hundreds of great basic, as well as exotic Italian Recipes from basic tomato sauce to stewed coot with linguine (duck may be substituted). I went on line to look for this book because I need to replace my 1968 softcover edition which is well-yellowed and on its last legs. The publisher should consider reissuing this classic.

Coyote in the Mountains and Other Stories
Published in Paperback by Limberlost Press Matrix Editions (July, 1989)
Authors: John Rember and Julie Scott
Average review score:

Buy this book! You won't be sorry.
This is an excellent book--Rember's stories are inventive, his prose is athletic and graceful, and the overall book is definitely worth a read. I'm from the west, and I found that Rember captures the land, the people, and the spirit perfectly--if you're from the west, you'll be grateful, if you're not, you'll be impressed. I'm online right now to buy the rest of this guy's books--so do yourself a favor and get this one.

readalicious
perpetually insightful Remerishnous. Ignore the large weird review, the other one has it right: rember is coming.

A Coming Author
I found this book by chance while visiting Sun Valley, Idaho. After reading it, I quickly went back and found all the remaining copies (3) available in the area and have given them as gifts to friends. Witty, captivating in concept, and at a deeper level, meaningful. Rember is definitely an author to be encouraged and watched. I wrote him my very first fan letter to encourage him to give us more "Coyote" tales.

The Crack-Up
Published in Paperback by New Directions Publishing (September, 1993)
Authors: F. Scott Fitzgerald and Edmund Wilson
Average review score:

Vintage Fitzgerald
F. Scott Fitzgerald captured the dreams and aspirations of so many people when he wrote of the fabulous excesses of the 20's - a time not unlike the recent "get-rich-quick" mania of the Internet bubble, which also crashed, destroying many fortunes and lifestyles.
In The Crack-Up Fitzgerald writes equally poignantly of the agony of the aftermath of such excess and unfulfilled desires and social insecurities. He was able to capture all of this so clearly because it was the life that he and Zelda aspired to and, from time to timem, lived. But they were always just on the outside, depending on the generosity of others both financially socially. He takes no prisoners.
It is no surprise that he is still being widely read. Don't miss Fitzgeral - it doesn't really matter which of his books you start with, you will find yourself moving through the collection.

first crack,last light
If you ever wondered what the down side of the twenties were read this. The excess was all a grand show, an escape from post war realities. A whole generation seemed to refuse to grow up, at least for awhile. Maturity was forced upon Scott and in these short confessions he reveals that all was not well in paradise. He lived in a haze of liquor, that was the dream preserving liquid illusion. But reality was not to be fought off forever. This is as close to a biography as we have from Scott, and it is moving in the way it is moving to see an athlete we all wanted to believe would live forever come to his day of retirement. He had the ability or charisma compounded by artistic talent to embody not just his but a whole societies dreams. But his moment passed and by the time Scott wrote this his books were no longer the rage. What makes him such a tragic figure is that he never altogether let go of those first illusons, never went through a moment where he learned from them and let them go. And one senses just as he had the egotists ability to romanticize his life with his words he also had the ability to perhaps overdramatize his own demise. He was not a person to learn, become made of harder stuff, and continue. Still there is some good stuff in this book. His letters to his daughter( who also wished to become a writer) in which he urges her to read great authors including his own favorite Browning are touching and revealing.

FSF gets personal
I came to this collection of autobiographical and other short stories after having read THE GREAT GATSBY for english A level. The contents of this book unlike Gatsby, are a backward look at the Jazz age, from the perspective of one of it's greatest godfathers. I never tire of reading these stories, whereas I found the Great Gatsby a little bit silly, this collection shows the true talents of FSF. It was the short autobiog pieces that really impressed me, specifically, My Lost City, and The Crack Up. I strongly urge everyone to read this.

Creating and Consuming Web Services in Visual Basic
Published in Paperback by Addison Wesley (22 May, 2002)
Authors: Scott Seely, Deon Schaffer, and Eric A. Smith
Average review score:

Excellent on-ramp for VB devs to move to .NET
If you are a seasoned Visual Basic developer with no familiarity with .NET, C#, or Web services, this book will get you where you need to go with a minimum of theoretical explanations and examples that are straightforward and to the point. It provides a quick overview of key concepts and then plunges into practical instruction that brings VB 6 experts up to the latest rev. You don't have to learn a new language to take advantage of .NET services. I work with Deon and have worked with Eric, and they not only have the understanding but the technical chops to back up what they are saying here. Buy the book, don't wait for the movie.

Web Services for VB Folks--it's about time!
If you are like me, you may have thought that the only good Web service support for ASP.NET was offered through C#. The three guys who wrote this book show that this just isn't true.

The book doesn't spend too much time on the protocols-- instead it explains how to use them from VB. If you need to understand the SOAP and WSDL real deeply, get a different book like Seely's SOAP book from PH-PTR. This book is about writing Web services, nothing more or less. The chapter on SOAP, WSDL, and UDDI is nothing other than an overview. Hey, you've been warned.

Great coverage for VB.NET devs
I just got this book and more or less tore through it. The book does a great job explaining the ins and outs of creating Web services with VB.NET. I especially appreciated the great coverage of using attributes to shape the WSDL and data used in the Web service. The book really helped me out a lot. Highly recommended.

Crossing Divides: A Couple's Story of Cancer, Hope, and Hiking Montana's Continental Divide
Published in Hardcover by American Cancer Society (April, 2002)
Author: Scott Bischke
Average review score:

Bischke's best!
Meeting a grizzly on the trail is terrifying. So is battling cancer. Scott Bischke's creative mind connected these two fears and the result is the cleverly interwoven story Crossing Divides. This true-life tale recounts the trials and triumphs of Kate's (Scott's wife) battle and eventual victory over cancer. Their celebration takes them home to the Continental Divide for an adventurous traverse across their home state of Montana. The challenges of each journey show us the power of attitude in all endeavors. Crossing Divides is a riveting read that does not gloss over the tough parts of life - it infuses them with the hope and strength to persevere.

Healing With Love
Crossing Divides is a beautiful love story of a young couple's successful struggle through the wilderness of cancer.

Kate and Scott were a young, athletic, married couple in the prime of their lives when Kate received the diagnosis of cervical cancer. It immediately became "their" cancer.

Their love of wilderness and their desire to return to nature became the focal point of their healing process. Kate and Scott take us along on their post-treatment hike though the beauty of Montana's section of the Continental Divide while relating the story of their cancer ordeal.

I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who wants an insight into cancer and everything that relates to it. I especially liked the story because they won.

An Inspiration
This book gives hope to anyone who has had to deal with cancer. Katie and Scott fought a tremendous battle against "their recurrent cancer" and came out as the victors by always staying in control of their choices in treatment and caregivers. They researched all their options completly and came up with a plan that would work best for them in beating the odds. I say "their cancer", because Scott was there through each and every step, supporting Katie, so she was never alone. This is a love story between a couple who have great strength and determination, as shown by the parallels of their battle with cancer and the journey they took on the Continental Divide trail of Montana soon after Katie's treatments. It is also a great book for any outdoor enthusiast who loves nature and a happy ending. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
